Song Of The Day!

Buenas Tardes!
It's the night pretty?
I have yet another song to bring light to and it is seriously from an underrated band. Today's SOTD is:
Shop Assistants: Somewhere In China
Today is yet another Indie band lost in the depths categorized as lost treasures. Even though they were critically acclaimed, they had only released one album, an EP and a few singles. They were featured in the famous compilation C86, along with being featured again on the sequel CD86. (They actually consider C86 a collective genre like Protopunk.) They were mentioned in another compilation, The Brit Box, a compilation of several Indie, Shoegaze & Britpop bands around the 80's and 90's. This was the song featured in The Brit Box.
One of the best compilations I've heard.
This to me is like the best lullaby I've ever heard! Alex Taylor's vocals are so damn beautiful, they're as good as Lush. David Keegan's guitar echoes while Sarah Kneale's bass slowly keeps pace while keeping the groove. All this happens while we hear Laura McPhail, instead of playing the drums, we mostly hear her playing a glockenspiel that sounds over the guitar and bass. (Kind of reminds me of "Everyday" by Buddy Holly.) Check them out if you have the time.
Enjoy!!!!
